About Us
WalkerLaw, PLLC is an Oklahoma based oil & gas law firm focusing on Oil & Gas Title Examination and Transactional work:
In the Spring of 2008 Tina Walker along with her husband, Lance Walker, started the law firm of Walker & Walker, Attorneys at Law. It wasn’t long before the firm grew, and Tina and Lance were joined by attorney Bruce Sharp to become Walker, Walker & Sharp, P.C. In 2018 Bruce Sharp ventured out and become the founder of Sharp Counsel, P.C. So, that just left Lance and Tina who changed the name to Walker Law, PLLC.
Lance L. Walker, B.A., J.D.
Lance “cut his teeth” so to speak in oil and gas law as a young associate attorney with the law firm of Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe and Dawson, P.C., in Midland, Texas, (whose oil and gas attorneys, Lance says “are second to none.”) While at Cotton Bledsoe, Lance learned the “Art” of rendering Title Opinions by examining oil and gas titles covering lands in the West Texas and the Southeast New Mexico region of the Permian Basin.
After leaving Cotton Bledsoe and moving to Oklahoma City, Lance continued his oil and gas law career as a litigator. In this capacity, Lance has represented clients in oil and gas matters involving operating agreements, drilling contracts, well service contracts, master service agreements, audit rights, gas purchase agreements, gas balancing disputes, surface damages disputes, subsurface trespass disputes, construction and enforcement of operating agreements, operator election/removal disputes, working interest owner disputes and oil and gas lease cancellation cases involving habendum clause, drainage, failure to develop, and marketing issues.
Although Lance no longer litigates cases, he still advises clients regarding oil and gas contract disputes. For example, he recently drafted letter opinions advising various clients as to: rights and liabilities under an exploration and farmout agreement covering lands in New Mexico; rights respecting overriding royalty interests subject to a non-consent penalty in a joint operating agreement covering lands in Texas; and rights and liabilities under a gas purchase contract in Oklahoma.
Lance spends most of his time examining oil and gas titles; rendering title opinions; and, drafting and reviewing the many documents used by the oil and gas industry.
Lance earned his Bachelors Degree (with high honors) in Political Science from the University of Florida (1995) and later received his Law Degree from the University of Oklahoma (2000). Lance is admitted to practice law in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, North Dakota and Arkansas.
Tina Walker
Tina has her undergraduate and Master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. She received her J.D. degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2005. Tina began working in the oil and gas industry as a Landman. Later, she opened her own law practice and built up the clientele to include Chesapeake, Continental Resources, XTO Energy/Exxon Mobil, Marathon Oil, Cimarex and Devon just to name a few. Lance was able to join the firm and it became the “mom and pop” firm of Walker and Walker, Attorneys at Law. Over time, the firm changed its name and is now Walker Law, PLLC. She continues to render Drilling Title Opinions, Division Order Title Opinions, Surface Opinions, Ownership Reports or whatever the client needs or requests.
In addition to working in the oil and gas industry, Tina is a former member of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association Executive Board and a former member of the OKC Junior League. She currently serves as a member of the Oklahoma State University Foundation Board of Governance.
